Cargo Surveyor Insurance & Claims


This course is designed by LiberoAssurance Training Team for Cargo Surveyors, Naval Architects, Mechanical Engineers and those involved in cargo insurance and claims issues. Officers, Loading Supervisors, Designated Persons, Managers, may also participate to understand the Cargo surveyor role, duties and issues should be considered related to insurance and claims may arise.

  • Outline the key legal requirements related to handling, Packaging, Marking and transport of various cargoes
  • Underline the main damages that may arise in relation to the transported cargo
  • Provide outline of the requirements of insurance & claims may arise
  • Describe how cargo can be protected and what a cargo surveyor should check before/during or after loading a cargo

  • Proper packing, handling, marking and labelling of cargo
  • Handling, loading stowage of cargo including dangerous cargoes

Solas, Marpol, IMDG Code, Bulk Chemicals transportation (BCH-IBC Code), Hague – Visby rules, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR 49)
