Security Awareness Training for all Seafarers (Model Course 3.27)

This course is approved by Cyprus Maritime Administration.

The seminar is intended to provide the awareness required to enable personnel working on board a vessel but without designated security duties in connection with a Ship Security Plan (SSP) to enhance ship security.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to perform their duties in accordance with the requirements of Chapter XI-2 of SOLAS 74 as amended, the ISPS Code A/13.4 and guidance provided in B/13.4), STCW Code section A-VI/6 and table A-VI/6-1, as amended and EU regulation on enhancing ship and port facility security (725/2004).

Our Training For Seafarers Without Designated Security Duties course is prepared according to the requirements included in IMO model course 3.27.

Learning Outcomes

Having successfully completed this course you will have knowledge of:

  • Generally all seafarers but specifically crew serving onboard not having specific security duties.

Outcomes/Certificates

Upon successful completion of the course assessment, participants will be issued with a ‘Certificate of Success’.

 

Cyprus Maritime Administration – Certification requirements

General guidance

After finishing the online course, you can submit your certificate and apply for the Cyprus Flag Administration certification, which is valid for sea service. You may contact the Cyprus Flag Administration at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., or your country's Cyprus Embassy for further information about the particular process.

The Cyprus Flag Administration charges an additional cost of 50€ per certification, and the process is conducted electronically.

Each participant receives a training certificate at the end of the course, attesting to their completion of the training course. For the Certificates’ of Proficiency issuance (COP) by the Cyprus Flag Administration, the participant needs to submit the below:

  • A copy of the seaman's book or passport
  • Where appropriate, a copy of the certificate to be renewed
  • A duplicate of the attendance certificate (issued by LiberoAssurance)
  • A duplicate of the medical certificate
  • One single jpeg picture
  • The applicant has to fill and sign application form EN05F10-V10
  • A copy of the payment receipt from the Cyprus Flag Administration's Office is required (an electronic payment receipt copy is insufficient).
  • Proof of payment of the applicable charge in accordance with Cyprus Flag Administration guidelines

To receive your certificate please send the following documents to training@liberoservices.org:
  • Copy of Passport
  • Digital passport photo of at least 600 pixels wide and 750 pixels tall (to be used in your certificate)

In your photo you must:

  • be facing forwards and looking straight at the camera
  • have a plain expression and your mouth closed
  • have your eyes open and visible
  • not have hair in front of your eyes
  • not have a head covering (unless it’s for religious or medical reasons)
  • not have anything covering your face
  • not have any shadows on your face or behind you
The documents should be in PDF/PNG/JPG format and be readable.
