The General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") was adopted on April 2016 and became enforceable beginning on the 25th of May 2018. The Regulation aims primarily to give control to individuals over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU. GDPR analyses the principles of, and rules on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of their personal data.
